CAPIF is a Common API framework whose main purpose is to have unified Northbound APIs which are across several 3GPP functions. This expansion is basically so that it can provide a common platform for new verticals who are ready to use the 5G technology in any form. CAPIF is a common API Framework whose main purpose is to have unified Northbound APIs across several 3GPP functions. It was delivered in Release-15 and all the enhancements are coming in Release-16.
The CAPIF Architecture has three main entities defined as CCF: CAPIF Core Function, AEF: API Exposing Function, and API Invoker.
