List of 5G, 4G mobile network operators of Bahrain

The main operators in Bahrain are Batelco, Zain and Viva.

Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed has announced that preparations for the rollout of 5G networks in the Kingdom of Bahrain are complete and anticipates that Bahrain will be one of the first countries globally to provide commercial 5G services to consumers by June 2019, pending availability of consumer handsets.

VIVA Bahrain, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabian state-controlled telecoms firm STC, signed an agreement to use Huawei products in its 5G network.

Batelco is the first in Bahrain and among the first in the region to deliver commercial 5G network services for its customers. Ericsson has been selected by Batelco to commercially deploy 5G to enhance the digital lives of people, enterprises and industries across Bahrain. The nationwide 5G deployment will happen in phases in key locations.

The deal, the latest in a long and successful partnership between the companies, will see Ericsson commercial 5G equipment – including 5G New Radio (NR), mobile transport, and core – being deployed in Batelco’s network.

Country’s third telecoms group Zain Bahrain is yet to announce a technology provider.
