5G NR is a new radio access technology developed by 3GPP for 5G. It is a global standard for the air interface for 5G networks. The frequency bands for 5G NR is divided into 2 ranges : FR1 and FR 2 . Frequency range 1 includes sub 6 GHz frequency bands and frequency range 2 includes frequency bands in mmWave range (20-60GHz). NR deployment will occur in two modes NSA and SA. scalable OFDM based 5G NR air interface includes scalable numerology, frequency localization, lower power consumption, synchronous multiple access.

It includes new radio spectrum, optimized OFDM. 5G new radio is able to provide communications for very high band for transmissions like streaming services as well as low latency services.
