List of 5G / 4G LTE mobile network operators of Algeria

Following is the list of mobile network operators of Algeria. Top most is Djezzy, followed by Mobilis and Ooredoo. All the operators are providing 1800 Mhz LTE Technology.

As of November 2018, Algerie Telecom Mobile (Mobilis) has tested gigabit-capable 5G mobile technology in Oran, a port city in north-western Algeria. Mobilis aims to launch of the 5G network technology in Algeria by the year 2020.

Algerian mobile telecoms operator Djezzy has added 1 million subscribers in the previous year 2018. In Jan 2019 Nokia has announced that Ooredoo Algeria has deployed Nokia Cloud Mobile to upgrade the Core Network.

DJEZZY

Djezzy (Arabic:جازي) is Algeria's major cellular network operator, with a market share of 65% (over 16.49 million users in Dec 2016) and a network covering population upto 90%. Djezzy provides services like prepaid, post-paid, data, value-added services and SUT. It was founded in 11 July 2001.

MOBILIS

Subsidiary of Algérie Télécom, Mobilis is the first mobile operator in Algeria, which became autonomous in August 2003. With 4500 Radio Base Stations (BTS) it covers the complete population.

OOREDOO

Ooredoo Algeria’s operations began in 2004 as Nedjma, and in November 2013, Nedjma was officially rebranded as Ooredoo Algeria. Ooredoo Algeria is making good progress towards a data centric future, extending its 4G coverage to 58% of the population across 48 wilayas, supporting the more than doubled data traffic and preparing its business to capture future growth.
